Pennyrile Pony Club is made up of members from Midwest KY and Southern Indiana. We
have members from Rockport and Evansville (IN), Owensboro, Bowling Green, Henderson
Elizabethtown, Campbellsville and Leitchfield, (KY). We have members that have their own
horses at home or a boarding facility and those that borrow/lease a horse from a local barn or
friend. It is not necessary for a member to own a horse or a pony, but they must have access
to one when required. Programs are offered in dressage, eventing, show jumping, mounted
games, tetrathlon, quiz, vaulting, fox hunting and polocrosse.
During "unmounted" meetings members learn about feeding, shoeing, veterinary care, and
other areas of horse management. Under adult supervision the more experienced Pony Club
members instruct and assist younger members. Our club meets twice a month, once mounted
and once unmounted. We are also a member of the MidSouth Region and participate in their
regional activities throughout the year.
Our goal is to help children and young adults to take proper care of a horse along with the
fun of riding safely.
